Golden Hour
Adjusting to remote work has taken time. I did not initially count on some of the advantages. Waiting for the pandemic to subside and for things to go back to “normal”, the absence of commutes felt like a temporary reprieve rather than a permanent feature. The complete independence to set my coffee breaks, my rest times to look out the window and take deep breaths or go read in the sun a while.
A habit I have developed lately is to go for a walk around sunset, before heading back and
doing my last bit of work for the day. The walks don’t need to be
long. Climbing the hills, out on the dirt paths. Watching the broad horizons, trees, street
lights turning on in nearby towns, breathing the fresh air.
You don’t need to go to some exotic place to enjoy nature.
